I've traveled quite a bit in my life, but nowhere have I been as enthralled by a city as Barcelona, Spain. After visiting this seaside city filled with colorful mosaics and amazing architecture by the renowned artist Antoni Gaudi , I created a series of pique assiette mosaics made to celebrate the beauty of Barcelona. (In literal terms, Pique assiette is a French term meaning "plate stealer", but has become the name for Folk Art made from found ceramics, pottery, china and found objects.) This piece is my interpretation of the many colorful spires that adorn the rooftops of this amazing city.
