Trapped Below Tide

Materials: Smalti, filati, lobster trap scraps, tinted thinset.
Statement: Foraging along the lobster coast, I find all sizes of trap scraps often still wedged among the rocks at low tide. This series of mosaics are intentionally rugged, textured, weathered and imperfect to express the force that happens at the edge between the wild surf and the rugged rocky shore, rendering these traps into small twisted & rusted scraps.
